Q. What is going on with Linnea's Garden these days?

A:We're recording our first full-length album and getting ready to play shows!

Q. What is the Live to Vinyl idea?

A:Linnea's Garden will be collaborating with Leesta Vall Sound
Recordings to record some singles directly to vinyl. These recordings
have no edits or overdubs, and each single exists as a unique copy,
sort of like your own personal audio Polaroid picture. More info here:

Q: How did Nowhere Friday Nights come about?

A:During the summer of 2020, I was jamming a lot with Hands and Tom from
Corner Soul because we couldn't play shows. I thought, why not record
an EP?

Q: Where is Red On Records based?

A:Boston. It's the brainchild of Justine Covault, who is fantastic.

Q: Who is in the band and how did it come together?

A:Our current lineup is myself (Linnea Herzog) on guitar/lead vox, Amy
Galaviz on bass/backing vox, and Hands on drums. Amy and I started the
band together in March 2020, and Hands joined after we recorded the
EP.

Q: I like "Friday Night" - it ranges from grunge to 60's pop in a
splendid way.  Do you really think the apocalypse is near?

A:No, that's just how it felt to start a band 2 weeks before everything shut down.

Q: Have you been in other groups that have performed at Bohemia?  If
so, who are they and what do you like most about the club?

A:PowerSlut played Club Bohemia a number of times. I liked how anything
goes there, like a basement party that's right in the center of it
all.

Q: Science and You, you channel John Lennon's atheist stance, is a
love affair scientific, or maybe more precise, is there a science to
love, or both?

A:When I learned about evolution, I came to believe that science
actually represents "God," or the higher power that holds the universe
together. Love surely is a vital part of that universe.

Q: "Replacement" goes to direct pop like Nick Lowe up a few notches.
Not Peri-apocalyptic, more like a beach movie saga from the 1960s.
Who influences Linnea's Garden ?

A:For this EP specifically, I was inspired by Blondie, The Go-Gos, The
Ronettes, that vintage garage-rock vibe. I can't say what the next
album will be like yet. Some days I listen to music from six different
decades and hear a lot to learn from.

Q "Glitter" goes back to riveting punk.  Girl on Girl on Boy on Boy,
is it a tribute to the Glam era of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Mott the
Hoople and Bowie - Goldie and the Gingerbreads, or just a logical extension
of the early 1970s?

A:It's a modern day glam rock love story between two musicians who
decide to choose each other.

Q: Anything you'd like to tell the Club Bohemia audience?

A:Linnea's Garden is playing our first live shows on June 11 at the
Jungle in Somerville, June 13 at Dusk in Providence, and June 26 in
Waltham for Red on Red Records' summer showcase.
