"EYES" by Fire in the Field SONG OF THE DAY Saturday 2-23-19 @ Club Bohemia @ the Cantab Lounge

SONG: EYES
BAND: FIRE IN THE FIELD

From the New Hampshire seacoast Mike Moore and Fire in the Field deliver a hard-hitting live track, "Eyes."  At about 13 seconds in a pure Hendrixian solo blasts nicely into the digital grooves, Originally on Fire in the Field's Look So Strange CD - running time 3:40 - released  April 22, 2016 - find it here:  https://www.fireinthefieldmusic.com/store - the song  appears in a live rendition on the LIVE AT PINK NOISE album released in 2019.   3 years later the 3:45 song drives with even more power, that Hendrix-styled solo in the intro - not in the studio version, and without the backing vocals, it's something Tony Iommi and Sabbath would be very proud of.

Time to let the good times roll, don't you think people?!

Club Bohemia hits the road … actually just heading down the street … from their home base at the Cantab (yes, Club Bohemia is back!) to The Lilypad to celebrate Mardi Gras on a Club Bohemia “off-night”.

Club Bohemia’s hero Mickey Bliss, a true diehard fan of Fat Tuesday, will MC this rag tag bunch of Club Bohemia musical diehards: Dirty Water Brass BandLynne Taylor, and The Rollo Tomasi Quartet.

Bliss will not only MC the occasion with his zest for some golden blade flare, he will also contribute to the musical landscape. All in good fun, and to buck up our collective foreheads for when those dreaded ashes hit them the next day.

Held on Tuesday, March 5th at 7:00 pm. The Lilypad is located at 1353 Cambridge St. in Cambridge 02139. $10 cash or check at the door, which includes King Cake and beads, along with a cash bar.

CLUB BOHEMIA REVIEW OF THE DAY
BY ROCK JOURNALIST JOE VIGLIONE
'ENGAGE'

The title song and first track of The System Drive's release on Bandcamp starts with an ominous Jaimie Lanes bass riff followed by sharp drums of Mark Podgurski and a guitar splash exploding into a riff-driven slide of hard rock. Spitfire vocals from guitarist Mario Passi unload the story - it's truly a "system drive," and engage they do. The voice is complemented by the guitar while the rhythm generates a solid platform for the controlled mayhem.
Each of the eight tracks has something to offer and for a debut, it is very impressive. Recorded at Woolly Mammoth and produced by the band and Dave Westner
