A truly fun rock and roll riff actually becomes the undertone to Ray Paul's melody in "Brokenhearted" and where Paul tends to keep to his love of Brit rock, "Brokenhearted" is a nice mix of American pop with British flavors.  It's the boss guitar interplay that puts the exclamation point
on this interesting lecture on the perils of love.  It's the lecturing and the determined guitar emphasis that makes this song different and intriguing.

CD Baby, which is selling the product, also posts each tune on YouTube with advertising so one would hope that the artist is getting compensated when every track from Bloody Rubbish is up there on YouTube.  We have the tangible CD which, to collectors, still echoes strategically in our music cabinet.   At 4:21, almost four and a half minutes, "Brokenhearted" moves along more quickly than the time indicates. There's enough twists and turns, from the "oh yeah" Bay City Roller-styled backing vocals to the twinkling Beatles guitars at the conclusion.   The YouTube sequence has it go directly into 1970's "Thunderbuck Ram" from Mott The Hoople, and that's a good thing indeed.
